This is an antique meerschaum tobacco pipe (or cheroot/cigar holder) featuring a hand-carved "eagle’s claw holding an egg" motif, complete with its original fitted, velvet-lined leather case.

* Materials: The bowl is carved from meerschaum (a soft, mineralized clay found primarily in Turkey) which naturally turns a deep honey-amber color over time as it absorbs tobacco tars and oils. The stem/mouthpiece is typically made of amber or bakelite.
* Motif: The "Eagle's Claw" (or Dragon's Claw) gripping an egg or ball is one of the most classic Victorian-era motifs for meerschaum pipes, popular from the late 19th century through the early 20th century (roughly 1880s–1920s).
* Fitted Case: The leather-bound case lined with teal velvet is custom-molded to protect the delicate carved meerschaum.
