A high-quality, hand-knotted piece with a dominant red field and a dark blue border. The design is intricate and features a central medallion and an all-over floral pattern. The design, colors, and intricacy are highly characteristic of this Persian rug, originating from the Isfahan region. It is highly valued for several reasons: it is a vintage rug in good condition for its' age making it a collectible; it is hand knotted and has a high knot count, silk has been used in addition to the wool which is a sign of a rug from a master workshop. The silk is used for its sheen and strength, allowing for finer details and a higher knot count.
I have had the rug at my office in my room, it has some areas where it is worn which would be normal for the age. It is in good condition
