Porsche Boxster

Boxter manufactured 1999 in Finland, exported to USA, lived ten years in sunny Long Beach California, imported back to Sweden after this. Hence the original seats were bleached and messy.

Used daily, runssmoothly and with lots of power all the way.

Many options, according to the codes in the book the following options; Oval exhaust, wood alu gear shift knob, stainless door entry panels, aluminium painted instrument dials with brushed chrome inner rings, 18" alloy turbo look slit rims wheels, wheel caps with colored crest audio option package,

Valmet prodn made in Finland, floor mats, antitheft with 2 remote keys and remote locking, windstop package, am/fm radio CDR200 (replced with a modern unit), engine storage box behind seats.

New quality German cotton Himmelin soft top with glass heated window, good summer on nice split rims and NEW winter tyres on porsche alloys. service history documented in US to 83000km then with major and annual from that point with receipts.

Newly recovered seats with a kit from Finonimus Canada, note the original leather was worn just where the driver gets in and out but foam beneath was very good. These are better than the leather ones but still not perfect. Good modern stereo fitted with BlueTooth and a nice sound.

5 speed manual gearbox, the one to have. 120989km. Low miles. recently serviced (oil/filters). Test till November '26. Only problem is the check engine light comes on at over 3000rpm and its the Variocam sensor, which is non critical but could do with replacing. Drives great. The engine revs smooth and all the way with no rattle. I kept the last oil change filter for reference and it is CLEAN, no plastic or metal particles.

Good provenance. Not complete service history but most major minor and yearly services. I can send you this SH. all inspection certs. tax month November 1985kr. It appears that the red Boxter S brake calipers have been fitted, photo enclosed, as the orignals are quite boring.

This being a 1999 model it has twin Intermediate shaft bearings which are NOT prone to failing (less than 1%), the later single bearing has occasionally failed (6%). This design is more robust and seems OK.

Sunroof goes up and down fine

Other minor issues include the driver window does not drop enough to ensure a seal (just push it), a tiny amount of water finds its way into the cab after a downpour, the electric up and down for the driver seat not working.

Its 28 yrs old, soon tax free.
