Sky-Watcher Heritage-90 Virtuoso
The Sky-Watcher Heritage-90 Virtuoso, with high-contrast Maksutov-Cassegrain optics, is ideal for observing the Moon, planets, and double stars. It can also be used for high-power daytime terrestrial viewing.
The Virtuoso mount provides a stable platform and automatically tracks night sky objects once they are located.
The telescope can be slewed automatically in both axes, at five different speeds, via the mount’s electronic keypad.
A notable feature of the Virtuoso is the patented Freedom-Find dual-encoder technology, which enables the telescope to be manually moved in either axis without losing alignment or positional information. This provides the user with enormous convenience and flexibility during observation sessions.
The Virtuoso mount can also be upgraded to full Go-To operation (which automatically finds thousands of celestial targets) by purchasing a Synscan AZ Go-To handset and cable.
The Heritage Virtuoso is primarily intended for astronomy, but it also offers several features that will appeal to photographers.
