Unlike the more common 11-inch desktop versions, this is the rare 16-inch "Gallery Scale" model. This larger version was the flagship of the Iron Art Copenhagen line, offering significantly more intricate detail in the bronze casting of the hull and the scale of the hand-incised copper sail. While smaller models were mass-produced as souvenirs, the 16-inch edition was sold as a high-end statement piece for mid-century modern interiors. Finding one in this large scale—complete with original rigging, the stand and the often-missing flag—is a significant find for the serious collector of Scandinavian modernism.
