I am selling my hardtail bike, because I bought a new one. It is a very solid bike for MTB, commuting, traveling and even using it for winter commuting without changing to studded tyres (as long as you are careful with ice).
The bike is in very good condition. I have been servicing it regularly (I changed the chain just 10 days ago!) and I have made 3 major updates:
1) Changed the stock saddle to Specialized Rivo sport. This is a much more comfortable saddle, that allows you to ride the bike for hours, without numbness and pain.
2) Changed the stock (plastic) pedals to MTB PD-GR500. They offer excellent grip for mtb/off-road trails and they are essentially indestructible.
3) I put a Maxxis Ikon 3cs/exo/tr, 2.35" tire on the rear. It has much better rolling resistance, grip and durability than the stock tire.
Two small issues is that the colour has flaked in various parts, because I was using some heavy duty lock that scraped it. It hasn't affected its looks though! Also, the deraileur needs some tuning as not all gears are changing effectively. That's an easy and cheap fix. Everything else works perfectly.
