This solid East German Praktica IV (M42 screw mount) is a robust, fully mechanical 35mm SLR from the early 1960s. It features a reliable horizontal cloth focal-plane shutter with all speeds working smoothly, including Bulb mode. The camera has a unique dual film advance system with one round dial on top and another on the bottom—great for quick operation. The body is in good cosmetic condition with normal wear for its age, clean viewfinder, and light seals that appear serviceable. Functionally everything works well, though the camera has not been film tested. Ready for film and adventure.
Standard Lens: Meyer-Optik Görlitz Domiplan 50mm f/2.8
Compact triplet design classic kit lens. The glass is clear with no fungus or scratches, though some dust may be present internally (typical and rarely affects images). Aperture blades are dry but functional. Focus ring turns smoothly. Produces characterful images with dreamy bokeh—perfect for portraits and everyday shooting. Mounts directly or via adapter. No front lens cap, but will be packed with the utmost care.
Telephoto Lens: Expert 135mm f/2.8
Sharp and bright manual telephoto lens ideal for portraits, compression, and isolating subjects. Glass is clean with no fungus or major issues, just minor dust possible. Focus ring operates smoothly throughout the range. Solid build with nice handling. Comes with both front lens cap and rear cap. A versatile addition to any M42 kit.
Long Telephoto Lens: Pentacon 200mm f/4 MC
Powerful 200mm telephoto with clear optics and smooth focusing. The lens is bright and clear inside with no haze or fungus. Note: the aperture remains wide open at f/4 (does not stop down in this copy), but this works well for creative shallow depth-of-field shots. Excellent for wildlife, sports, or distant subjects on film or adapted to mirrorless. Focus ring runs nice and smooth. Comes with both front lens cap and rear cap.
