For sale is a magnificent, highly collectible early 20th-century bronze sculpture titled "A Dancing Jester" (Harlequin) by the renowned Russian-born artist Boris Frodman-Cluzel (1878–1969).
Modeled and cast in 1919, this piece beautifully captures the fluid, dramatic movement and theatrical energy that Frodman-Cluzel is famous for. It is a stunning crossover of late Art Nouveau movement and early Art Deco styling.
Key Details & Markings:
Artist Signature: Stamped with the artist's initials and date "B.F.C. 19" on top of the bronze base.
Premium Swedish Foundry: The side rim is clearly stamped "Herman Bergman Fud.", identifying it as an elite casting from Stockholm’s legendary Herman Bergman Konstgjuteri (famous for casting the works of Carl Milles).
Pedestal: The bronze figure is beautifully mounted on its original, turned natural stone base (alabaster/onyx).
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with a gorgeous, rich patina. The stone base shows minor, authentic wear consistent with its 100+ year history, with no major damage.
