This V8 was completed in August 1976 for the United States market, finished in Royal Claret Metallic over a Burgundy leather interior. Equipped with Weber carburettors, an automatic transmission, a Philips AM/FM cassette radio, and built to US specifications, it carried a lofty sticker price of $13, it was ordered for “direct export” rather than purchased through the local West Coast Aston distributor, and supplied to Richard Popkin of Popkin and Shamir, Inc. on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. Popkin was a founder and senior managing partner of the eponymous immigration law firm, which still operates on Wilshire Boulevard today as Popkin, and Golan. How long the car remained in Popkin’s care is not recorded, but in January 2000 the Aston entered the collection of Robert Sarullo of Orlando, Florida.

Acquired by its next owner in April 2012, it was described at the time of purchase as a good, running and driving car. With the odometer showing only a single mile more than when it was purchased a decade earlier, the car remained on static display during his ownership.

In 2022, a Dutch collector and friend of MOTIKON, acquired the car and imported it to the Netherlands. In December 2023, it underwent mechanical recommissioning focused primarily on the fuel and brake systems. The fuel tank was removed, the fuel lines and pump were replaced, and the carburation system was addressed to restore proper running. The braking system was overhauled, including master cylinder revision, and related components. Spark plugs were replaced, and general mechanical work was carried out to return the engine to proper operating condition.

In December 2025, the car received extensive additional restoration and mechanical work. This included a full carburettor rebuild, replacement of brake components including boosters and pads, steering and transmission leak repairs, electrical and lighting repairs, chassis correction and welding work, interior carpet replacement, and numerous ancillary mechanical improvements. Over 85 hours of specialist labour were invested during this phase.
