I got it earlier this year as NOS, perfect condition and very rare frame. I was planning to build it for myself, but it's not my size. I put it together and rode it twice. I have also original saddle and cockpit if you are interested.
Kuwahara Colorado RC frameset - silver with purple graphics. Made in Japan by Kuwahara, the Osaka company building bikes since 1918 and best known worldwide for the BMX that flew across the moon in E.T. This is from their mountain bike era. Lugless TIG-welded chromoly, 4130 CrMo decal on the fork, original Made in Japan mark on the seat tube.
The paint is the reason to want it. Silver metallic base with layered purple and black graphics and the Kuwahara wordmark stretched down the down tube in a typeface that could only come from the early nineties. Original decals, original finish.
Included with the frame and matching fork - original threaded headset, purple anodized Tranz-X front cable hanger, purple anodized quick release seat collar, seatpost with clamp, rear cable stops, chainstay protector. Cantilever bosses front and rear. Rack and fender eyelets. Triple bottle mounts on the down tube. Threaded bottom bracket shell with clean threads. No dents, no cracks, no rust.
Frames like this were built to be ridden hard and thrown away, so finding one unused is rare. Build it as a klunker, a city bike, a light tourer, or leave it as it is.
